Big confession
I HAVE BEEN GUILTY OF IT TOO
As a believer & promoter of women’s body empowerment
I have devoted my life
TO USE DANCE AS A MAGNIFICENT TOOL
OF TRUE SELF EXPRESSION & COMMUNICATION
WHILE FIERCELY FEELING GOOD IN MY BODY
and teaching others to do the same
But here's the truth:
NO MATTER HOW MUCH I EMPOWER OTHER WOMEN TO FEEL GOOD IN THEMSELVES AND LET THEIR MAGNIFICENT BODIES FREE TO EXPRESS THROUGH DANCE
I HAVE HAD LOTS OF CRAPPY DAYS IN WHICH I FEEL MY BODY IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO DANCE
Accepting this truth was the first step.
Next I needed to do something about it
Here is what I did:
1) I have STOPPED GIVING THE MIRROR THE POWER to dictate my mood or happiness for the day & instead I decided to INVEST ON A FIERCELY WONDERFUL RELATIONSHIP WITH MYSELF...AT LEAST 5 MINUTES A DAY

2) I have decide to remind myself, on a daily basis that,
WHAT I THINK OF MY BODY AND MOVEMENT DON’T GO TOGETHER.
MOVEMENT IS NOT SOMETHING WE HAVE TO DO TO FOR THE BODY
MOVEMENT IS SOMETHING WE ARE BLESSED TO DO FOR
OUR MIND, OUR BODY, OUR SOUL
DANCE IS NOT ABOUT
"HOW GOOD YOU LOOK"
BUT
"HOW GOOD IT FEELS"

DANCE IS MORE THAN FITNESS
DANCE IS A ART FORM
DANCE IS YOUR TRUE EXPRESSION
IT IS EXPLORATION OF WHAT YOU REALLY FEEL INSIDE AND HOW TO COMMUNICATE IT
ITS POETRY IN MOTION
The absolute BEST way to stay consistently happy with yourself & stay motivated with your dancing is changing your internal language
INSTEAD OF
“Let’s move so we can burn off that apple pie”
CHANGED IT INTO
“Honour yourself for showing up today & discover what is your body going to tell you today”
INSTEAD OF
“Let’s wake up that body from last night’s drink fest”
CHANGED IT INTO
“Embrace what your body can do today, listen to it, watch it move freely,
observe it, don't judge it, don't think,
let your emotions become the melody”
THE SECRET TO FEELING GOOD IS LOVE YOUR BODY UNCONDITIONALLY AND UNDERSTANDING THAT IT IS ALWAYS TRYING TO COMMUNICATE TO YOU
